This Standard is formulated to implement the laws and rcgulations, including Environmental
Protection Taw o/ the Peoples Reputblic o/China, aw of the Peoples Republic ofchina on
Prevention and Control of Water Pollution, Law of the Peoples Republic of China on Prevention
and Control o/ Air Pollution, Marine mvironmen Prolection Law of the People s Reputblic o/
China and Decision of the State Coumcil on Implementing Scientific Viewpoint of Development
and Strengthening Environmenal Proteclion, etc, as well as Opinions a the State Council on
Compiling Nationa/ Main Function Divisions, protect environment, prevent/control pollution and
promote the progress of electroplatin manufacturin technique and pollution control technology

Thc discharge of odor pollutant and ambient noisc by clcctroplating cntcrpriscs shall bo
subjcct to the corresponding national standards for pollutant dischargcs, whilc the authentication
trcatmcnt and disposition of solid wastes produccd shall be subjcct to the national standards for
control of solid waste
This Standard is issued for the first lime
From thc implementation datc of this Standard, thc discharge of watcr and atmospheric
pollutants from electroplating enterprises shall execute the stipulations of this Standard and stop
cxccuting the rclcvant stipulations of integrated wastewater discharge tandard (GB 8978-1996)
and Integraled emission standard of air pollutants(GB 16297-1996
