    This specification is approved for use
    by al l Departments and Agencies of the
    Department of Defense
    SCOPE
    1.1 Scope. This specification covers the general requirements for a
    synthetic hydrocarbon base hydraulic fluid for use in the
    to +205 C
    temperature range in aircraft and missile hydraulic systems, The fluid is
    also used in airborne engine compressors and related equipment. This
    hydraulic fluid is identified by NATO Code Number #-537 see 6.5)
