1. Scor
This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies test methods for flat pallets
hereinafter referred to as pallets
Classification of Tests
The tests shall be classified into tour classes as shown in the following
(1)Compression Test for Stringers or Blocks Hereinafter referred to as
op Pertm) The test to examine the strength to compressive load

(2)Bending Test The test to examine the strength to bending of pallet
by applying concentrated load on two places on upper surface with
supporting horizontally the both ends of pallet
(3) Under Surface Deck Board Test The test to examine the strength
to bending of under surface deck board of second step pallet at step
loading
(4) Drop Test The test to examine the strength to deformation and the
like due to drop impact by dropping the pallet in diagonal-line
direciton from a definite height
3. Test Apparatus
3. 1 oading Apparatus The compression testing machine according to
JIS B 7738 or an apparatus eguivalent thereto or an apparatus to apply
load() by using weight
Note( The test load includes the mass of upper surface comprcssion
member and loading board

3.2 Upper Surface Compression Member and Lower Surface Support Memi
The upper surface compression member and lower surface sup port member
shall be as follows
(1) The upper surface compression member to be used for feet part com-
pression test shall be the steel plate of dimensions as shown in
Table

(2) The upper surface compression member to be used for bending test
and lower surface deck board test shall be steel pipe not less than
about 60 mm in outer diameter and 4 mm in wall thickness, the
lower surface support member, be angle shape steel pipe not les
than about 100 mm in both width and height and 3 mm in wall
thickness on which the load is applied uniformly and which endures
the test load sufficiently
Further, the length of upper surface compression member and
lower surfece support member shall be longer than the length of
pallet
4、 Specimen
4. 1 Pretreatment The wooden pallet and plastics pallet shall be conducted
with the tollowing pretreatment:
